The Centre for Newborn Health Research & Innovation (CeNHRI) is an integrated platform dedicated to improving newborn survival outcomes in Nigeria. We combine research, clinical practice, and simulation-based training to strengthen healthcare systems and translate evidence into real-world impact.
Our Story
Background
The Centre for Newborn Health Research & Innovation (CeNHRI) was established in response to the urgent need to improve newborn survival outcomes in Nigeria and across Africa.
Why CeNHRI Was Established?
Despite global progress, neonatal mortality remains a critical challenge. CeNHRI was created to bridge the gap between research, policy, and frontline healthcare delivery by providing a platform for evidence generation, innovation, and capacity strengthening.

Our Approach/Model
Research
We conduct high-quality research to generate the evidence base needed to drive improvements in newborn care at local, national, and continental levels.
Clinical Care
We integrate the latest scientific knowledge directly into frontline healthcare delivery, ensuring that advances in neonatal medicine reach those who need it.
Capacity Building
Through hands-on, simulation-based training, we equip healthcare workers with skills and confidence to deliver better outcomes for newborns in real-world settings.
